Ait Benhaddou

Ait-Ben-Haddou in Morocco is a beautiful, fortified village in the southeast of the country and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. The small town was built around 1,000 years ago and was an important point along the caravan route back then. Today, Ait-Ben-Haddou is one of the most visited attractions in Morocco and probably the most attractive stop on round trips across the country.

Due to its unique architecture and incredibly magical ambience, Ait-Ben-Haddou has already served as a movie set for many well-known films. Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and Lawrence of Arabia were all filmed here, for example! Yes, a visit to this pretty village is worthwhile, and so every Morocco traveler should have seen the largest Kasbah in the country.

Mt. Toubkal / Jebel Toubkal

Mt. Toubkal, known locally as Jebel Toubkal, is the highest mountain in North Africa standing at 4,167m/ 13,671ft. Located in the High Atlas Mountains, the greatest mountain range of North Africa. This mountainous region close to Marrakech is the most beautiful and intriguing part of Morocco. It has retained a remoteness which is intriguing. Villages lay undisturbed and the local way of life hasn’t changed for centuries. This trip enables you to enjoy both the mountains, and the colourful local culture of the Berber villages that are built into the steep valley sides. Your local guide can tell you all about the local culture and traditions, so you get an amazing insight into the region.

Day 1: Marrakech to Dades Gorges via Ait Benhaddou and Atlas mountains.

We organize private Sahara tour from Marrakech with depart from your hotel at 8 am You enjoy amazing landscape through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’ Tichka mountain pass and local Berber villages. You will enjoy adventure tour of kasbah Ait Benhaddou. After lunch our Morocco journey will take you to Ouarzazate city, where we may visit local Atlas movie studios, the largest movie studio in Africa.

We do not miss kasbah Tourirt, the residence of the Glaoui Dynasty. We continue towards Rose Valley and through Skoura Oasis and the kasbah Amerhidil towards Dades Valley where we stay overnight in local riad.

Day 2: Dades Gorges to Todgha and Merzouga camel ride

Today after breakfast we depart from Dades Gorges enjoying the Road of 1,000 kasbahs through the Dades Valley. We visit one of the Valley’s traditional kasbahs and we continue to Tinghir to enjoy a 1-hour walking trek along the Todgha River with local guide. We visit Berber villages and after lunch in Todgha Gorge we travel through the oasis towns of Erfoud and Rissani. We finish our today’s travel in Merzouga where we meet our camel guide for Erg Chebbi desert journey in Sahara Desert. We enjoy beautiful views of the Saharan sunset, by camel ride. We arrive at Sahara desert camp for a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars while local Nomads play traditional Berber songs.

Day 3: Merzouga to Imlil via Marrakech

On the last day our Marrakech trip to desert continues with trusted travel company Morocco-Tours-Toubkal-Trek and we will be woken up a half an hour before the sunrise. We enjoy magical view of golden dunes and then we return to Merzouga village by camel ride. After breakfast we drive from Merzouga to Marrakech passing Tazarine and the Draa Valley – as the fascinating oasis home to Berber villages.

We continue to Marrakech and we’ll transfer you directly to Imlil where you will spend your night in a local Riad with dinner and breakfast included. atlas-prestige.com

Day 4: Merzouga to Imlil via Marrakech

On the last day our Marrakech trip to desert continues with trusted travel company Morocco-Tours-Toubkal-Trek and we will be woken up a half an hour before the sunrise. We enjoy magical view of golden dunes and then we return to Merzouga village by camel ride. After breakfast we drive from Merzouga to Marrakech passing Tazarine and the Draa Valley – as the fascinating oasis home to Berber villages.

We continue to Marrakech and we’ll transfer you directly to Imlil where you will spend your night in a local Riad with dinner and breakfast included. atlas-prestige.com

Day 5: Imlil / High Atlas Mountains (1740m) – Tizi Mzik (2500m) -Tamsoulte Waterfalls (2300m)

After breakfast in your Riad, you meet the guide and muleteer and then start the trek and climb Tizi Mzik pass (2500m), spectacular view over Imlil Valley and Toubkal Summit, continue to Tamsoulte to visit the highest waterfalls in the Atlas Mountains (100m of height) here you will spend the night in a Guest house or in a Berber house.

Day 6: Tamsulte to Refuge (Base Camp)

In the morning, you will continue your trip with your guide to the refuge where you will spend the night before you will climb the top, the night will be at a refuge Les mouflons refugetoubkal.com

Day 6: Refuge – Toubkal 4167m – Imlil – Marrakech

An early start will take you to the top of the highest peak in North Africa. The summit has an incomparable view of the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert and the environments that have enclosed them for centuries. Then descend to the refuge for lunch. The day involves around 8 hours walking and finishes back in Imlil followed by the drive to Marrakech. At the end of trek we transfer you to your hotel in Marrakech or to the airport, and our our service finishes.
