Day 1: Imlil trek to Toubkal refuge via Aremd and the Mizane valley

We organize Marrakech Atlas trekking to Toubkal with depart from your hotel at 8 am and we drive south over gorges and High passes of the upper valleys to the Berber town of Imlil. Here, the group will leave the vehicle and grab a welcome glass of mint tea in the gite d’etape. Then, set out for a 4 km hike up to the Berber villages of Aremd taourirt and targa imoula.

Stop to visit a singular village in the Assif Ait Maizane Valley, built seemingly house upon house on a rage moraine spur. Next, carry on to the equally-quaint village of Sidi Chamharouch, a Berber village set beside a waterfall and small stream. Break for a picnic within full view of the mighty Jbel Toubkal, which is, at 4167m the highest peak in the Maghreb.

The last stretch of the day will take you to your overnight accommodation.

Day 2: Trek to summit of Jebel Toubkal (4165m)

An early start will take you to the top of the highest peak in North Africa. The summit has an incomparable view of the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert and the environments that have enclosed them for centuries. Then descend to the refuge for lunch. The day involves around 8 hours walking and finishes back in Imlil followed by the drive to Marrakech.

NOTE: This is a private Marrakech Atlas trekking tour so it means nobody else will travel in your group. If you require any modification for our suggested itinerary please feel free to contact us.
